Isn't there a problem getting a magnet to stick to fiberglass?

With all the heat this summer I thought i'd give an update on the shades. They have held up extremely well in all kinds of weather, including 6 months in the Florida Keys with all the salt air.
With all of the heat last year and this year, they have really helped keep the rig cool with just one A/C. Thanks to the great insulation of the Excels, we are always comfortable no matter how hot it got outside.
Bottom line is, IMHO this is one option that is well worth the investment.
I've looked at the new frameless windows and feel that they can be used on them too. Hope this helps.

Yeah 99, all you said is true, but don't forget to give the new Polar Mach 1500 BTU credit for doing a great job too. The other day we had a fluke hot day here and it was about 100*F ambient. We had folks coming in and out of our rig all day long. Everyone commented on how cool it was and that their SOB rig was nowhere as cool. The compressor did run all day but it kept the inside @ 75*F which felt darn nice. I'm impressed. Just my .02 worth. rockin'

The snap on shades work on RV's other than Excels. We installed the Sun Guard 95% on our Carriage Cameo. We got them from RV Toy Store.
Service was super and they make them your dimensions. You can get 1/4 turn twist locks, snaps or Velcro attachments.

Tom,
You're losing your SKIA real fast. The Polar Mach is 15,000 BTU's NOT 1,500 as you stated. I was giving the unit credit when I said that the one unit handled it all. Your .02 worth is just that, .02 here.

Never meant to imply they were only for Excel rigs. We got ours from the Shade Shoppe in Mercedes, TX. (See 1st entry for full details)

Good catch 99......that's why you're 99!!! It's 15,000 BTU for sure. Did you see my post on my servicing of that Polar Mach? That's some kind of condenser that baby has. Wonder why it took so long to get this H.E. unit. I understand the new Dometic has a similiar setup. rockin'

Tim, ole Rockhead lost his SKIA title a long time age as I recall . Now when he speaks I sort through it and only take the good info if there is any!! And that don't happen that often. But I must admit I still like the guy.
