Can anybody tell us why we can't keep ice cream hard in our Norcold freezer (2007 Limited) ? Setting is set on 6. We've found if we set it any higher, then the stuff in the frig gets too cold. We have tried putting it in various locations in the freezer compartment and it still gets mushy. Other items are frozen solid but it seems that the popsicle type items that we buy, do not hold up. Perhaps it's a hint to cut them out of our diet and loose a few pounds.

Lindaxtwo, The phone number for Norcold customer service is 1 800 543 1219. Why don't you post you're concern in rv system and appliance forum? The Moderator (RV Wizard) is pretty cool. He is not afraid of sharing his years of knowlege with us novices. I bet you will have you're answer with in a few hours after you post. Who knows he might even like ice cream too!

If I remember at the Reunion this came up in a seminar and the answer was to place the ice cream on the self so that air moves around the container.

The coldest spot in the freezer is in the left side as close to the rear as possible. Fat content in the ice cream is also a factor. IIRC it seems like the less fat (low fat/reduced calorie) the softer it would be. Regardless, your ice cream will be softer than home!
