Solar install on a 2012 Excel Wild Cargo

Hello All,

In the process of planning a solar installation on my 2012 Excel Wild Cargo. Does anyone have any feedback on best location to penetrate the roof for the solar panel wiring to get down into the basement. Thank You in advance for any advice.

Next to a pipe chase for a holding tank vent pipe should give give you a straight shot to the basement.

Are you sure that unit isn't pre-wired for solar? Look for 2 leads coming down somewhere around the driver's side propane tank in the bay.

Here's how I did mine:

My solar was run down inside the refrigerator vent. No added holes into the roof.

What he said. If the refer vent won't work, go down either the black or gray vent tube and exit into the basement through the side of the vent tube. Lots of web sites with help on this topic. Excel pre wired mine for solar but the gage was way too small. That was in 2010 and I still haven't installed the solar.
Have fun. - John

PI installed 2ga wire at my request next to my battery compartment were my charge controller is. The shortest length possible to the charge controller is the way to go.

Here is a list of the solar equipment I added.

1 -TriStar Remote Solar Meter 2 (TS-RM-2)

1 -Magnum (ME-AGN) auto genset start with temp probe
