Greg,
I also have the Trailer Saver Hitch with Smart Air (Bags). I purchased it in 2007 and have been very happy with it. No chucking and the ride is smooth. Talk to Aaron at Hensley and he can help you out. You will need to be able to winch it up into your truck. The only negative is it is too heavy to lift out. I purchased a inexpensive hoist from Harbour Freight for $50 to help me with this. I also bought one of their dolly's to place it on. Works great...

want to be an owner
Good Evening. We have a Ford 250 Super Duty and considering a 2006 36ft Excell M35 flr. We really like the floor plan and want to be sure the 250 will handle ok. Any experience with this combo

I don't have experience with that combo but I'd ask myself, if I were you, can I STOP this trailer with a 250?

I began with a similar setup. It was not a good combo as my 2008 F250 was overloaded and it felt like it.

I have a 36 GKM and I keep the trailer weight at around 17500 and pull with a 350 DRW. The stopping is the big thing as mention. I had an occasion recently to stop in a hurry from about 55 and it took the better part of a football field to do it. Your truck will pull the RV but without DRW I would not want to drive it. If trailer brakes fail you are in big trouble. For that matter so am I. If I were younger and had more time on road I would do the HDT route.

You didn't mention what year your F250 is. But, at any rate chances are you will be overloaded on the truck specs. I just don't think it is enough truck for a 36ft Excel IMO.

DRW= dual rear wheels, dually pick-up. HDT= heavy duty truck, semi-tractor, aka Freightliner, Kenworth. 250\2500 = 3/4 ton pick-up , 350/3500= one ton pick-up
