Our Norcold double frig is showing this error code in the panel. The book says only an authorized technician can fix this error. We happen to be close to Triam in Ocala and I called them earlier today. They agreed to look at it in the morning. Meanwhile, I'm wondering what the error means.

wonder if sr means system reset ?? did you try removing AC and turning off your batteries at the same time??

No. . .wait. . .maybe that would be a bad idea to shut everthing off. If it doesn't turn back on again, and your fridge is full, that could be a big problem

Might be a flame sense circuit failure requiring a power board replacement to repair.

I'm lucky, we're still spending Bryan's warranty money.

Well, I can't help either. My N814 didn't list that code , my current RV repair & maint. manual list 18 different codes but yours wasn't listed. All letters A, C and D followed by a number. Hope it cools till repaired.

Virgil,
Do you have side by side refrigerator in a slideout.
We had on that was not keeping cool. After troubleshooting and working with Norcold to repair, they had us install a new refrigerator. Doing some futher testing after the replacement, we found that the fan on the back of the unit was not working properly and could have been replaced. What was happening is that the temps were coming up on the back of the refer causing the codes, but was no indication to the cause. I can give you the codes in the AM when returning to work, but can't this PM. Glad that Tri-Am is able to assist you tomarrow, but may offer the fan information to them.

Virg,

I've had this code (5r) showed up 4 times in the 2 1/2 years we've had it. Never has it caused a problem with the performance. Just cycled refer off and then on and it's gone. I tried to determine if it was triggered by a particular event, like power up or down, a battery disconnect spike and never have been able to determine the cause. Oh well, I'm "just letting it go"! Don't want anyone to think I'm a little an**!

BTW Code is for internal control board failure.

A steady 5r code with an audible alarm means, "Flame sense circuit failure".

Repair is to replace power board.

The power board is located on the back of the fridge below the absorber coils.

I would try tapping this board and unplugging and replugging the connectors to the board.

I tried it and it worked for me also.
Also, thanks to Tom N from the Winnebago group who comes in with the quotes from the manual. Now I know what the fault is and where the "maybe" defective board is.

Now, you got to love this forum don't you. One service call and the time that would have been lost is now saved thanks to the forum. Thanks to both you guys.

I simply turned the frig off for a minute or so and then back on and the error code disappeared.

Virgil,
Tom N is correct in that the code Sr is Flame Sense Circuit Failure. According to our Service Manual it requires a Power Board Replacement. This should be covered under Norcolds warranty or thru Excel.
Rockintom, your Refrigerator is out of the Parts/Labor warranty period, but I sure that it is still under the parts only warranty. You may take you model and serial number into a Norcold Service Center and see if you can get a Circuit Board and R&R yourself.
And from what I am reading this is on a N841 Model.
Good Luck.

Wrongway,
The N841 model was mine. I looked in my manual for code listing and was only stating that my model/manual didn't list that code, you know...trying to be helpful. Who would think they have as many code numbers as there are paint names. Sorry for the confusion.
Chris
