Yes, sometimes bad stuff happens but for the most part you've just given your money away to the insurance company. They're in business to make money from your fears. There aren't any companies, that I know of, that consistently lose money and stay in business.
On that note, IMHO, Excel is a quality builder of RV's and their warranty adequately covers shortcomings in the construction process. Do problems occur? Yes of course because humans are involved but the company is strong and stands behind their product. Companies who don't correct their wrongs, soon are gone.
We, Excel owners, each made our decision to purchase our rigs for specific reasons. Enjoy it! Just MHO.

Tim,
I couldn't agree with you more on the extended warranties and this is the first extended warranty I have ever purchased.....don't know why.....was just a gut feeling. If I have issues with things I buy that are causing me trouble I usually move on to something else....I have the funds to cover whatever is needed.
PI did help me out quite a bit over the two year warranty period. They also left me wondering about the way they cover things and left me and my dealer to flip the bills on other things. The extended warranty hasn't made the insurance company any money I can tell you that! It has paid for itself four times over now after the two year factory ended. I was actually happy when the factory warranty ended as it relieved a lot of stress on me and my dealer as whether they would get paid for the work needed. My unit is good now but it was in the shop more in the the two year period than I got to use it. It is a long story that I will not go any further into. I can't say enough good things about my dealer here that I still deal with. My dealer no longer handles Excel.
