I think Paul's way is probably easier for just moving the pinbox position. When he says 1/2 bolts, I think he is talking about 1/2" head size (5/16 shaft). Great idea. My way would be perfect for complete R&R of the pinbox.

Virgil,
I can't remember if you're running a commercial 5th wheel hitch. I installed my TrailAir Pinbox in the upper mounting holes and I'm still slightly nose-high with my Fontaine hitch. I plan on replacing the commercial hitch with my Reese this fall/winter and that might level my coach.

Success and for a non-mechanical guy like me, it is cause to celebrate!
I used Paul's method and it worked like a charm. I will say that I tried to cheat and not use the 1/2" bolts and that did not work. I needed the "slop" provided by the smaller bolt to make the alignment work. Also, using an old blunt nosed hand star drill for a guide bar made aligning the holes easier. Took me about 40 minutes. Thanks for the direction.
Chief, I changed out the Fontaine and added a TralierSaver Air hitch. Using the Fontaine with no side to side articulation scared me. With the TrailerSaver I can rotate and bounce on down the road.

Thanks

Butch,
I torque mine to 85 ft/lbs. I read that somewhere and now I can't remember where. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. I check mine about every 6 months and on occasion I have found a bolt that needs torqued.
MakinSmoke,
Glad all went well.
Paul

I torque my pinbox bolts to 115 lbs. and the Demco pin assy. bolts to 85 lbs. Can't remember the exact source on the pinbox, but the Demco specs came from Scott Johnsen of Demco engineering. Tom
