The auxillary speakers don't work

We have a '04 30' SKW with a JVC t-v and a Philips MX395 DVD player and haven't any sound out of the back speakers or the higher up front speakers and never did. The unit shows it is putting a signal out to all of the speakers on it's display of the little icons.. Is there some switch we are missing turning on and can it be hook up so the t-v puts sound to the auxillary speakers.Is this DVD player fasten down with velco and how is the t-v fasten down? Are most of you buying that converter box or replacing it with new high-def freindly unit. I have a 24" by 26" hole to work with.

The way our Excel was wired from the factory is so the only time the surround sound works is if we're using the DVD player to watch a movie. It's not hooked up to the TV...wish it were!

Are you saying that your surround sound doesn't work when you're watching a movie using the DVD player?

Our 2007 Excel came with an HD LCD TV, so we don't need a converter box. The only reason you'll need a converter box is if you watch TV using your Winegard batwing antenna...with cable and satellite TV there is no need for the converter box.

Jim and Linda,
I recommend you call Ed at the Service Center and he will lead you through setting up the system. We were told that when they replaced our DVD system with the JAMO, that we wouldn't have surround sound. Wrong answer -- Ed set it up for us and it works great.
