Yep - we're limited to three lines now. They'll figure out a away for us to get all our fancy stuff back, but it may be awhile. David

  • Same roving Moderators
  • We are looking into the photos in signatures BUT they will be smaller if we do them.
Rockin...It is running slower for a time period...but it will become zippier after some of the extra "backroom junk" gets cleaned up. The forum is far from being complete in the conversion...but Andy felt it is better to have a "shell" for everyone to play in while he finishes up the conversion behind the scenes.

ALSO... I want to reccommend people use IE instead of AOL for now. AOL does not like the Java script being used ...so things run very poorly through the AOL browser. This is being addressed at this time -but it will take a few days.

Linda.. you have been answered in regards to your question in the other thread that talked about starting the map back up.. THIS thread is to NOT have any discussions at all - the only thing here is where you post your location. and No, you cannot change the map yourself. I have been updating the map each night from info left in this thread. (I am posting here because this is the only place you have looked for the answer..and I will be moving the other two posts to Off-Topic Thread.)

Well, I guess my hands have been slapped!!!

I have NO IDEA *which other* thread you are talking about where I was supposedly answered. I have not read THIS thread since it's inception...I don't read every single topic either in this forum or in any of the other forums.

You will get no further questions from me!

LindaH,

I agree, I think maybe MM did not get her Troll Juice today. A little bit grumpy.

Also for Still, someone had to wake up Rockin' so he can go mingle with the big movie stars now. Maybe he will bother them and someone will give him a movie contract.

I am not sure if the multi is active or not. The quick is for posting quick replies, no fancy formatting.

Mandy,
Has the Off-Topic thread been "cross-linked"? OR asked another way...how can we tell not when a thread has been "cross-linked"?

I have always used the marine toilet paper in my RV and I have heard a person can use anything that is septic tank approved. Also I am hearing that by spraying spam in side the toilet bowl keeps off unwanted deposits, I am curious how this would be on the tank seal and if any one is using anything other than marine TP?

The plug Atwood is using is hollow in the threaded portion which causes the wall thickness in the thread root to be very thin. In some instances, the constant exposure to heat will cause a leak to develop in one of these thin spots. When this occurs, and if not caught in a timely manner, it is possible for water to find its way into your coach. Not a good thing. One way to overcome this problem is to purchase a brass plug and replace the plastic one. However, this presents a new problem all of its own. The fitting in the water heater is aluminum and aluminum does not like to be in contact with a different metal. The final result is a phenomenon called dissimilar metal corrosion. To avoid the problem, "rockintom" told me about a product called Devcon Permatex High Performance Thread Sealant. This product applied to the thread portion of the brass plug will prevent the onset of the corrosion and will make removal of the drain plug very easy when it's time to clean out the build-up inside the water heater (about every six weeks if you FT). When you do this, clean off the old sealant from both surfaces and reapply it. Do not tighten the brass plug any tighter than is necessary to keep it from leaking, i.e. hand tight using only a socket. This has worked for Tom and it is working well for me. Just as a note, before I went to the brass plug I looked everywhere for a solid nylon, Teflon, or plastic plug that could take the heat exposure. I never could find anything suitable.

Where can this Devcon Permatex High Performance Thread Sealant be purchased?

We have used normal TP for years...we do always make sure we get a good clean flush of the tanks though..and we have double maceration on our rig...and we have not had any problems.
I cannot answer about the SPAM spray though...
