Today's Event
As most of you know that there is hardly a trip that goes by that something goes haywire. Just part of the fun of RVing. Well today ours was a flat tire on the Charm. We've been lucky to never had a blowout or tire separation (yet) but flat tires...we've had a many! One of our 17.5" Michelin XTA had a 3" screw in it. The tire repair guy was quite impressed that I could raise the tire off the ground for him without a floor jack! Out of every adversity something good comes of it. I truly believe that phrase. They had freshly popped popcorn while I wait. Nice little treat. I'd probably still be there if they had offered me a free HH!!! That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!!! Hope your day was just as lovely!

You are right Don. No one was close to being underneath the Charm though. When I was in the RGV and having tires changed at a GY store way back when on my first rig, they had the rig jacked up with 4 floor jack (properly placed), but it was in the parking lot and the wind was blowing like mad. The top of the rig as rockin' (pun intended) and rollin' and I made them put stands under it. I was a nervous Nellie!!! rockin'

I notice it in prep for travel (breaking camp). We were parked for 4 days and with the jacks set there's not much load on the tires. When I retracted the rear jacks and getting ready to check tire pressure.....it was pretty obvious....my lovely bride said "it's flat on one side"! Aired the tire up found the culprit and drove it 6 miles to the tire store.......and had some popcorn! Life is hell! rockin'

This one Mine is about 10 years old and it has been good. I simply have it in a open tote for stability in the basement. If I ever needed to replace it I may consider the Harbor Freight 150 lbs. pancake style oil less. It goes on sale for $99. often. It would take up a little less room. I also keep a little 12V air compressor for emergency only. They don't last long if you use them often (unless you buy a very good and expensive one). rockin'

For what it's worth, I finally gave up on carrying a compressor around with me just to see it poop out just when I needed it. I now carry a 10 Lb bottle of CO2. The pressure is quite high and can therefore air up plenty of tires. 110 PSI is no obstacle. When it runs low I can stop by any paint ball store or welding supply and have it refilled for 8-9 dollars. I find it very convenient.
