Tim,

I use Countertop Magic (HD, Lowes) per recommendation of PI. If you spill a very strong cleanser or bleach it will etch the top....I have found by finessing with 1500-2000 sandpaper with warm soapy water and finishing with the CM it comes out nice with a satin finish. I use a rubber sanding block. HTHs rock aka SirKnowItAll!

I just wipe the countertops off with a wet dish cloth, just like I'd do in a S&B. I have occasionally used the Clorox wipes if I've been cutting up lots of meat or chicken (I use a cutting sheet, of course), but other than that, I don't use anything special to clean the countertops.

I certainly wouldn't recommend anything that's going to scratch the countertops, such as a powdered cleanser.

Tim,

I guess I was thinking beyond normal daily wiping down of the coutertops.....I assumed that you were talking stuff that wouldn't come off with normal daily wiping.

P.S. My approach also works on scratches too.

Our shower stall is the same ToughStone material as the kitchen countertops, so we use the Countertop Magic on both (to be safe, not on shower stall floor!). Name changed 3/13/08, though: at Lowes I purchased "Complete Magic" still by Magic American Products, Inc. Here's info about the name change:

At home we have the Corian counters and for normal wipe down, we use a diluted vinegar solution in a spray bottle. Vinegar is a tremendous cleaner and cheap.
