I've been bitten by the rockintom bug and have become increasingly "anal attentive" as a result. I've been spending so much time under the Excel that the DW swears I go there to escape foam her!
During our last jaunt, we experienced our first significant invasion of ants. Marilyn hates insects of any type and a few ants may as well be a thousand. We had hundreds! they were coming from around the hot water heater on our 35MKO. Our snooping revealed that the drain pipe for the sinks was not sealed where it exited the underbelly fabric. You could literally see the ground from inside the coach.

Sprayed the coach from stem to stern, top to bottom and killed the vermints! Sealed the hole with expandable foam and Gorilla Tape.

Also noticed the electrical bundles running down the street side of the coach were secured with electrical tape that had become undone. Replaced with plastic ties.

Folks, I'm a big fan of Gorilla Tape and IMO, it's much better than duck tape. I keep a roll in the TV.

Thanks for the heads up, Chief. My wonderful bride concurs with you. She says the Gorilla tape holds my mouth shut much longer than duct tape.

Isn't new technology great????

Chief, back in Oct 07 you reported on exterminating ants. We have just discovered them this past weekend Lady Lake, Fl. Will become an upside snoop again to locate any holes. Question, what did you use to spray the "vermints?" and were you successful with one application. Considering hiring an exterminator if not personally succesful. Agree with use of Gorilla tape since your advice to get some. Many thanks.

You can handle the varmints -- go to WalMart or Home Depot and get a gallon of the home insect control. Safe for pets and will not stain carpets, walls, etc. Then apply the spray liberally and watch them turn their heels up! We keep a jug of the stuff on-board for any unwanted visitors inside or out. I'll take this thread over to the plant and make sure those involved do the best job possible of sealing all intrusion areas under the coach.

Excelguy, Great to get your response on this posting---nice to know the head honcho is real.

Would you have any special suggestion as to the type of material to use to "de-ant hole" the underbelly of my Excel. Was wondering, that if service eventually was needed and undercover had to be removed, would I be creating a problem by filling up holes? With kind regards, Maverik
