We had a fresh water leak at the back of the toilet every time we flushed. Investigated and found water coming from the control valve. I called Thetford and they sent a new one out. It took all of 30 minutes to replace. Another job done, more time to fish.

Good for you. Had a similar experience. Noticed water dripping from under the mh the other week just before taking it for a week long trip. Found I had left the water pump on and the water valve had a crack. SO it flooded the bathroom floor and the water found a way out. Unhooked the toilet went to CW to get a new valve assembly and replaced it. Not too tough.

Tom, it takes me time just to get the tools out and set up the work area. Then I had to wash the floor before putting the thing back together. You know DW don't like me to mess things up. Then I had to get everything put away when I was finished. So actual repair time was about 5 minutes. It's all the other stuff that takes away from my fishing time.

I'm convinced Thetford should supply these by the dozen. First one went bad and wasn't shutting off all the way after flushing so water continued to slowly run into the bowl. We found out the hard way at 3 am potty call when discovered toilet running over and water all over and into the basement.

Next one went bad less than a year later, doing the same as you describe. Water leak on outside after each flush. Still a PIA, but controllable and not the disaster of the other failure. So we were going to be at SC anyway, and asked them to check and replace it if needed. It was, and they did. Before the next day, we discovered the new one was also leaking, same place, much smaller leak but leaking non the less.

So Darrin checked it, and found the new valve he had put in the day before was defective. As Ralph brought him out another to put in, Darrin supplied the wisdom. He suggested Ralph should just throw the whole cupboard of those in the disposal bin LOL
