Thanks for the welcome. We loved our time cruising the water, but at this time we find land lots more comfortable. As for pros/cons:

Our 5th wheel can out run a hurricane.

We can stop the fiver when the weather deteriorates.

The trailer doesn't move much when we are in it, no more motion sickness.

Boat stands for Bring Out Another Thousand...also known as "A hole in the water into which one throws money". We hope our new rig is not the same hole.

Vic and Barb,

I like your analogy on the boat verses coach ordeal. I've own both and can tell you both are a money pit....the coach usually being less, based on my experience. Hope you enjoy your rig and please come back soon sharing your experiences. We have a blast on this site. Lots of silliness going on here. Life is short, enjoy it to the max!

here's my take on boat vs rv. we lived in punta gorda fl. 7 yrs. ago owned a 38 ft scarab offshore boat. could leave our house and go to our nearest nice watering hole, for a burger and a beer 2 1/2 times or about 190 mi. on 185 gal. of fuel. purchased our first dp and took a ride to northern mi. 1,550 miles on 160 gal of fuel. guess which one we sold when we got back?
