Yesterday I purchased a Watts regulator. And immediately realized a complication.

I like my Reel EZ hose option and use it whenever I have a water faucet at a campground. However, if I shouldn't connect the regulator to the faucet to avoid theft, how can I use the regulator with the Reel EZ? If I run a hose from the faucet to the regulator at the trailer, I've lost the benefit of the Reel EZ.

Maybe some secure way to attach it to the faucet? The regulator consists of multiple parts, so hard to lock up. Or some box to hide it in?

Always somethin.

So far I have been using my big Watts regulator at the hose bibb and no one has bothered it. Not to say some low life won't steal it someday.

I've had my Watts regulator and water softener connected to the park water source for almost two years without security and without issue. I do have a security lock on my Surgeguard at the power pedestal. I don't allow myself to be concerned about some things, it cuts into the fun thoughts. As a side note regarding water, the other day I observed a man and his dog walking and twice the dog stopped and urinated on the park water hydrant without any intervention from the owner. It reinforced my contention to spray the hydrant with undiluted Clorex prior to hooking up.

Bruce, I haven't seen the hose reel, other than a picture, does the hose disconnect from the reel assy. If it does....is it possible to remove the hose, attach a 1 ft section of hose, then the regulator and original hose and get it rolled back up?

Maybe I'm not always lucky and hate giving things away easily.....so I'm a lock it up kind of guy.

Here is what I've done for my water filter and regulator. Mine unit didn't come with a whole house filter and where my interior hoses are routed, would be hard to put inside.
It hangs of the front ram for the entertainment slide and is lockable. A 25 ft hose goes between the hookup and regulator and 10 ft to the units connection. Works good so far.

Ken,

You've been very lucky. I've had 2 Watts stolen in the middle of the night in 2 nice RV parks in our almost 4 years of FTing! This one I painted flat black to deter theft...so far so good almost a 1 year now! We have a Travelsoft water softener too, and it has NOT been stolen....yet. Many folks wonder what kind of "filter" that is!!

Actually the WS is a filter of sort. About 60 micron filter! Filters the big rocks!
