I'm still trying to block furnace exhaust gas from entering the trailer. I look at the weatherstripping around the door, and I see
Notice the diagonal cut gaps in the weatherstripping on either side, as well as the extra piece too. If you magnify and look carefully, you can see score marks on the edges of both diagonal gap, showing that someone intentionally cut out those two pieces.
Very thin thieves trying to gain entry?
Juvenile mice with box cutters?
Communist insulation sympathizers?
Do you have the same installation? Am I missing something here (other than weatherstripping)?

Bruce,
We have the same gaps in the rubber insulation. There are also holes cut into the underside of the door...probably to allow any moisture to drain.

We have the same gaps except ours are vertical instead of at an angle. We have only noticed the smell of propane fumes once when the wind was from a more rare direction and we had the awning extended.

They are to let air in, I would not want mine to be completely air tight. I would suffocate, and the windows would blow out during a tornado. Both of my doors have the gap in the same spot.

Thanks all. I was just one day from replacing that strip. I'll need to look further for exhaust air leaks.
