Welcome Shirels,

This has become one of my favorite sites for info. Many of us are sincere in the info we share.

Just don't pay attention to the things that Sir KnowItAll, aka "rockintom" stirs up.

Sorry Chief, I could not resist.

Thank you for the welcome. We have a 2001 Excel that we love. Only had it two years and still learning. Currently we are having a problem with not getting voltage to the valves to empty water tanks. Have checked all the fuses and trying to back track from switches to other wiring. it appears that all valves are in the stuck open position. anyone with hints or ideas for novices

shirls, welcome to the Forum and I also have a 2001 unit.

I would assume the valves you are referring to are electric controlled (12v) valves on the waste tanks ??? to dump the gray/black tanks. I do not have valves on my unit so not sure of the operation. Most valves that I'm used to dealing with are normally closed and have voltage to open. Have you checked the voltage at the valve?

Do you know the mfg of your valves.

Hi Workshop,
Please disregard the question with respect the valve electrics i actually found an open circuit feeder and replaced it so the electrics are ok. The valves we have are Auto-Drain by Barker Mfg co.
Our real problem is that the black water valve is stuck open and I want to get to it.
As you know the underside of the trailer is sealed so the valve is not visible. My question is :- Does anyone know exactly where the black water valve is located ?
Thanks,
Shirls

Shirls,

When I purchased my unit last year it didn't have several of the owner manuals, just in case you don't have them.....here's Barkers web site that will cover the waste valves and the Outriggers and Rollout EZ Slide which might also be on your unit.
