I like the "signal" of whose having a HH......they put a chair by the curb early in the day. That means come to our place for HH with your drinks at 4:00 PM. Pretty organized, if you ask me!
The only thing we didn't like about it was the fact it is so far from civilation, I.E. the grocery store and Walmart. It does have a nice country feel though. Birders would love this area. rockin'

Here's an old pic of Doug and Jutta's place (D&J) in their Excel at Retama. They now have a 39' Grand Teton, Volvo HDT, 550 Ford and the Rabbit sittin' in the drive. Enough toys???

Tom,
We're going to take a 'tour' of the property sometime this week. I know we're not buying though. The lots at Bentsen Palms side are really large and they are good enough for us. The best part is that BigBit & LilBit are parked with us this time.
The cost is nice too. $17.00 + / day. We're here for 5 weeks. They tell us the park will be pretty much ours at the end. Most of the folks are leaving for the North in about 2 weeks. Almost like boondocking but with all the amenities.
It's not that far to things. It takes about 3 -4 minutes longer to get to the Walmart here than when we were in Alamo. We just need to get our bearings on this side of the valley. Besides LilBit doesn't care about distance. She only needs a 'sip' of fuel.
The best thing Tom is that on Wednesday evening they have FREE Margaritas happy hour. We just bring the munchies.
