I keep getting this crud in the compartment door sill - seems to be coming out of the drain holes in the door, but why? we haven't had any rain for a couple weeks. Just a couple days ago I cleaned it all up. Today I opened the left door and there it was again 1st pic. Cleaned it up and about two hours later -pic #2. Tech at the dealer thinks it comes from the hinge, but I can hardly imagine this needs to keep on forever

Welcome to the forum....as you mentioned that it seems to be coming from the door drain holes....my first impression is that you have moisture in the doors. It was a problem that has caused problems to us older unit owners. IF you can see it at or around the drain holes at the bottom of the doors, then that is what the problem is and not moisture getting past the hinges. I'm not sure how the new doors are constructed so can't speak to that. Just check the inner trim, vinyl, if any or areas where moisture might be entering.

Thanks for your thoughts -yes has to be somehow water in the door, but how there can be so much thru a long dry spell and how it gets in there is puzzling. I sure hope we can find a solution -but running out time as we are heading for TX on the Mon after Thanksgiving. Have to stop by our dealer on that day for the recall on the oven gas supply tube, then hit the road for the Rio Grand Valley

It does seem like a lot of moisture regardless of where it came from. Hopefully it's not your door. When I rebuilt my doors, the location of the drain holes might have retained moisture within the frame depending on the 'level' of the unit. Have you recently moved or changed position?

Regardless, being a 2010 unit, have your dealer look at the door when you have the gas supply done and have it logged as a possible problem. If it continues, have the door replaced under warranty when it's convient.

The black rubber weather seal is held on the rough edge of glass by little steel fingers molded in the rubber. When used in wet areas they rust and look just like your picture.

Ya, I don't think we even talked with the boss about this issue -just the shop. We will indeed be discussing it when we're there on the 29th

Oh my Rick, I hope it ain't termites with diarrhea!!!!

Sorry......I get carried away sometimes. Does it have an odor? What's the consistency? Slick, slimmy or thick? Nasty looking stuff.

I have water draining on my doors drains on Excels for 6 years now and haven't seen this one. Maybe a call to PI service dept would uncover something.

Please let us know what you find out. rockin'

We had heard about it via a Good Sam email - and when we went to the dealer last Thur they had just gotten the letter. We have since[this past Monday] got the actual notice from PI that Suburban had issued recall notice for certain stoves. The tube from the oven valve to burner has had some failures so were upgrading that part. If you have an affected stove you should get the notice from PI.

Not sure but this might be the recall. Since I have an Atwood in my unit...this is the only recall I saw posted.

Rick/mn, this might be better in a new thread of it's own. Some one surfing that doesn't read every post might miss this news.
