Now at Monaham Sand Hill State Park, I20 w of Abilene after spending 2 nights in Abilene waiting out ice, snow, wind. Lots of upside down vehicles between there/here. Budget rental truck & even single wide mobile home. Left our last State Park at the suggestion of the park ranger since we were on top a hill & road clean & not going to be long. This is basically in the middle of sand dunes. The full moon is gorgeous tonight !!

Monahans State Park is surreal. Interesting, but not many options other than looking at or sliding down the dunes. Walking to the top is a struggle. Have fun. Going to Balmorhea or Davis Mountains State Parks while you are out there?

Currently Maverick Ranch RV Park at Lajitas TX. 30 miles from Big Bend National Park. Understand they were without electric in entire area for 5 days due to ice & semi hitting pole then domino effect-30 poles. Good reason to always have water in the tank & good fuel in the generators. Another Excel in park, obviously full-timers, will try & meet them. Here for 30 days, just because we want to see if we can do it. HA 7-10 is usually our limit. Then it will be back to Texas State Parks. This place has been on our bucket list for years.

Have you been to Hueco Tanks State Park near El Paso? We have reservations in April. On that trip we will also stay at Balmorhea SP TX, Davis Mountains SP TX and Brantley Lake SP New Mexico.

Been to Brantley loved it, considered it this year. Drove thru tanks, hiked a 3 or4 mile trail. Met some people at sand hills going to tanks. Have driven thru Davis ( we seem to do a lot of that) while at balmorhea, nice park

We are at Mother Neff State Park Texas. The park was recently updated for 4 million dollars. New park headquarters, roads and 20 site camping loop. All new sites full hookups. We are in site #5. One of the nicest sites I've ever had. Wish they could update all Texas State Parks like this.

Seminole has no communications, needed to clarify. Here at Laredo, nice park, WiFi only at office but we have our own. Park not even close to being full. We've been out done our grocery shopping & basically in for next 4 days. Big air show, festival going on, too much traffic & too many people for us. :-)

Lake Falcon

Falcon State Park, Texas. Here for 7 nights. Full hookups, 50amp. All sites are pull-thru. They were good to let us pick another site as we just couldn't wrestle around the tree and shrub even trying backing in. We were just too tall. Older park and you basically park "butt to cheek". Very clean. Has laundry and some planned activities. Covered tables, fire ring. Understand very popular fishing lake.
Towns 30 and 15 miles away. Hilltop camping not on water.
