Didn't we discuss different ways to cover the two light switches in the utility area? Can't seem to find it via searches.

I hang the hose so I can get to the handles. I'm tired of turning on one of those switches when I close the basement door and push the hose into a switch.

Thanks!

PS Ever use the Campingworld.com search function? Always entertaining. This time, "light switch covers" yields one hit - Roman Style Shades.

Is this what you were referring to....wasn't for the light switches....but the only switch cover that I can remember that a cover was placed over. Another one of gdbontly's many projects.

Ditto what work said.....while I was reading I was thinkin' that's what you were referring to. Looking at the pix you sent......I'm amazed to see the light/pump switch mounted that low. Now that's just plum goofy. On both my Excels they are at the top of the utility center. Bruce....you didn't move them there did ya??? I'm sorry I'm not much help on this one.....therefor.... I'm gigging you at your expense.....but what else is new??? rockin'

Yeah, that's it. Thanks much. I'll put 'em on my long hardware list.

Uh oh. Just realized that these switch guards are designed for standard plates. Not the fancy rocker switches that contain no screw holes.

Screw it.

Bruce,

You can probably make your own switch covers using 1/8" aluminum stock from Lowes or Home Depot. Bend it around a piece of pipe to make the curve, bend the two ends for mounting tabs, drill holes in the mounting tabs, and use sheet metal screws to mount it to the wall of the utility center above and below switches.

Whaaa? Who do you think I am? Workshop?

No, really. That's a good idea. Was thinkin' loosely about it, but you've given me the details.

Been too distracted by waste pipe leaks and hydraulic malfunctions. This one sounds simple, cheap, and likely to succeed.

Planning a trip to Lowes this afternoon anyway. Add this to the list. Thanks GD!
