I have the 3005 for directv and after the install could only get some of the stations (local only in about a 150 mile radius). What the 3005 is a legacy unit without a swm, it uses the legacy setup to find the sats so you will need to use the b-channel converters or I used the external swm switch and power unit along with the green splitter. you can get this from ebay. The external switch is what directv used as they moved from the legacy to the swm dish you get on the new installs. If you use the swm switch you also gain the one cable to reciever feature, so as not to have to run the extra lines. I mounted the switch up by the sat dish, made 4 small cables to attach the switch to the four legacy outputs on the dish. Inside I added the power unit in the sat single down line from the swm switch which ran into the green splitter which you can then attach the bedroom, living room cables to.

I've been able to move my DVR's in and out of my MH without difficulty. My question is since I've upgraded to 'Whole Home' at the stick house, can I 'Whole Home' my MH by simply moving the components as well (DECA's, Splitters, Broadband Adaptor, etc) and simply adding a SWM8? I have a call into Winegard and DirecTV. Should work

If you use the green splitter I do belive the whole home dvr will work. Just remember that you want to start the dvr first then when it is up start the 2nd unit. The dvr must be totally up and running before firing the 2nd unit up. It uses the coax cable as a cat5 connection between the two units. So make sure you take the cat5 unit that plugs into the drv.
