Wood Valance option?

I'm going to drive ya'll nuts with my questions. We are making a list of what customization and options we want done when we order our unit. I don't want any upholstery or curtains, and I see there is an option for oak valances, so I assume you can get hickory as well, since hickory cabinets are now available.

Does anyone have a picture of the wood valances? I wish the Excel site showed pictures of all the options, but it doesn't.

CJ: What level of trim are you guys looking at? We have the limited which comes with several cabinets with glass inserts for the cabinet doors. Not sure if the level of trim you're considering includes that or not. If we were ordering, we'd probably ask Peterson to make those complete wood doors vice glass inserts. Just a thought. David

We've had oak valences in both Excels and would have the wood valences in our next one, no matter the wood. They should be able to make them in Hickory w/o problems. They are so much easier to clean when you have allergies. We stayed with the side drapes for some window treatments. They come off easy for clean-up.

We have the glass in the cabinets at the rear and like it. They're easy to clean and give it a decorator touch. That's why PI offers so many choices. We can have what we want.

tink,

This is one of those things...like W/D and the open or closed bath, whatever your preference. We have had the standard valances with material and are OK with it. I don't want the all wood valances.

I love the padded ceiling and yes it is expensive.....many of our friends say they prefer the stardard ceiling. Same thing....... to each their own. rockin'

Thanks everyone. I want wood valances because I prefer to make my own curtains, as I redecorate often. Re-upholstering the valances is a chore! I also want a wood headboard, not an upholstered one.

As for the mirrored doors, I already have it on my list, no mirrors and no glass on any cabinet fronts.

We are looking at the Limited (35TKE).

Padded ceiling is a definite yes!

I want to decorate the interior in a cabin style, so I want it as rustic as possible. I have a rather long list going of things I want to ask if they'll change (without incurring too much cost!)... like a plain glass shower enclosure, without the graphics.

I have got the fu fu in the living quaters and wood in the garage. Hickory for all woodwork. No complaints from me. We also replace the metal blinds in the garage with day/night. Simple change out and much better looking.
