2015 Gathering in the Desert

Only about a month until the Gathering. We have a great time planned as in past years. See this link below some details and registration if you would but not required. This year our firewood guy will be in Florida so we ask that everyone please bring at least a bundle of wood. We have three dinners planned plus a couple potlucks.
A 'Sloppy Joe Share' and a Spaghetti Share' just bring a small portion of sloppy Joe and spaghetti sauce to share and we provide the buns and the spaghetti and the fixings. A baked potato with the fixings dinner where we provide everything and a potluck that my and my assistant's smokers provides the meat.

We will have lots of hotdogs and marshmallows for campfires (ya, if we have wood). Mac 'The Fire Guy' is asking to hold a seminar and We have Barb Nuehring of the full timer chapter offering to do a genealogy seminar and a local genealogy club has invited us to attend a monthly meeting of theirs that Barb is talking at. Also talk of the ladies doing some crafts. Everyone pray for weather like we had last year please! REMEMBER that all Newmar owners and guests with other brands are welcome. No need to be an NKK member.

Joe, Thanks for the pictures. I attach here a short writeup on the 'Quartzsite 'Newmar Gathering'.
There were approximately seventy coaches that attended. It was especially nice to have seven youngsters attend and enjoy the campfire activities with their parents or grandparents!
A special THANKS to Penny and Max Nuttall for being our co-hosts. Thanks also for the help many of you all gave us with meal preparation, serving and cleanup. Next year we will have more organized helper sign up sheets. We think that the social hours and the six or seven planned and impromptu meals that were served as well as the campfires went quite well.
There were five seminars held as follows: 1/ Electrical management and tire safety; 2/ RV Fire safety; 3/ RV maintenance and remodeling; 4/ Genealogy Basics and 5/ Basics of Dry Camping.
We have Co-Hosts for next year already. Peggy and Ed Owens have volunteered for this important position. We are already thinking of how we can improve the Gathering for next year. We encourage your suggestions for improvement and suggestions for good, easily prepared and cleanup meals we could try next year. Preparing and serving over one-hundred people in that desert dry camping environment is a real challenge!
