Mid coach speakers

Working on upgrading my indash radio. I have completed the wiring. Everything is perfect except the mid-coach speakers are not working. Both the old and new units have 4 pairs of speaker wire outputs. The front speakers over the driver and passenger side work great and the rear speakers in the bedroom are working. Those 4 speakers respond to the left and right, front and rear controls. Do the mid coach speakers only work off the amp? The Jensen unit that I purchased did not have an amp trigger wire so I installed a third party switch that triggers the amp signal by monitoring a speaker wire. Any ideas about what I may have missed?
