G'morning ALL NKK'rs:

So,.......here we are atop (and I MEAN atop!!) Raton Pass at a surprisingly WONDERFUL little campground called Cedar Rail. It's located on the E. side of I-25 at Exit 460 right on the Colorado/New Mexico border. For us, it's one of those little "gems" we sometimes stumble into and we think we'll hang another night or two....what a vista, what a sunset, full hookup, real pull through....WHAT A SURPRISE .

Saw a post or two from other NKK'rs slowly migrating toward the Balloon Fiesta but was wondering about hearing from others.

So...how's your progress? Where ya at now?

Anybody?....Anybody?

Steve & Lynette

We are currently in Georgetown, TX, heading for the Texas State Rally later this AM. We head for ABQ on Sunday and will arrive on Monday to work on final arrangements for the big event. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday!

Yup, see ya Friday. We're spending a week up in Santa Fe, then two nights (9/29 & 9/30) at N. KOA in Bernalillo immediately North Fiesta grounds. Let us know if there's anything we can do to help when we get to Bernalillo.

Boy!!....you folks sure are busy with the various rallies. Do ya ever get a vacation??? Looking fwd. to meeting everyone.

The KOA North is a nice campground. We've stayed there a couple of times. We're with two couples here at the Texas State Rally that are also going to be at the Balloon Fiesta. Seven days and counting.

Jim & Sue:

G'morning from Santa Fe.

The park here, Santa Fe Skies, got us a couple more nights so looks like we'll run down to the Fiesta grounds on the morning of the 1st from here rather than relocate to Bernalillo (KOA N.). Thought we'd do a little poking around up here. Hope we can find our way into the Newmar site at the Fiesta grounds coming down I-25 from the North. Instructions with our packet from NKK seem pretty good. See you then.

On our way from San Antonio to Carlsbad, NM after doing a temporary fix on a jack problem. This is a long hop, so we will be arriving a bit on the late side. Since Sue and I switch off driving, it makes it a lot easier to do a long day. We'll at the Balloon Fiesta CG tomorrow afternoon.

Jim & Sue:

Sorry to hear about jack problem, but glad to see you're on the road.

Say, we'd kind of like to take a day trip run down to Albuquerque from here in Santa Fe in order to eyeball the route in to the Newmar parking site before driving the rig down on Friday. Might this be possible on Tues, Wed. or even on Thurs. (9/28,29,or 30th)? If so,...coming down I-25 which exit/road is best?

Thanks.

Jack problem is temporarily in remission. Will worry about it after ABQ.

We are on the grounds on the spot where we will be for the rally. It's row F. We have the entire row. If you want to see exactly where we are, follow this link:

Location of AE8R-1 - Google Maps APRS

Zoom in and choose satellite view to see the parking lot, Balloon Museum and Launch Field. You will exit on Alameda and go west to Horizon Blvd. If you follow the blue lines, the entrance you will use is near where we turned around. The regular gate was locked until later this week and we had to go in past the AIBF office to the CG exit. You will go down the road that is just to the east of the arroyo.

We will be out running around, so we may not be there. If you want, you can give us a call at 520-603-1190.

See you soon!

BTW, we will be at Santa Fe Skies immediately after the Balloon event for the New Mexico State Rally. We've stayed there before and it is a nice place. Great views!!
