We want to replace the carpeting in the living room and bedroom with either laminate or vinyl plank style. Our slide in the LR is the "tip out" type of slide and we are wondering if the carpet on the slide can also be replaced with the new flooring. The slide mechanism is covered by a flap of carpet that runs across the entire length of the slide and is perhaps an inch or more above the main floor when slide is retracted but which lays flat when the slide is put out. I hope I am describing this accurately!

Has any one done a replacement floor for both the main floor and the slide, or did you elect to keep the slide area carpeted. Ours is really worn in both areas.
