2002 Onan gen hard start

My new to me 2002 Challenger generator was VERY hard to start from the day I purchased the MH two years ago. But it always did start and ran just fine. I have a W22 chassis under the MH. The Chevy started at the turn of the key until this spring.

After I replaced the chassis battery this spring. Lo and behold! The 5kw Onan starts as soon as I bush the start button!!!! I mean like turning on a light bulb fast!

I just thought I would put this education to me out there for others to consider if they have generator starting problems, even on Fords.

A weak battery will do that, I bet it sounded better when it spun over instead of a slow spin it was a fast spin and it makes for easy cranking...

My 01 Damon Intruder with an Onan was hard to start when I bought it in February. I thought it just didn't like cold weather. I changed the air filter (NAPA), changed the oil (15w40 diesel oil) and replaced the spark plugs (Auto Zone). WOW! What a difference! Starts like a new unit now! Even when cold.
