Question 2003 Damon

HI, New here and first time posting. I have 3 slides on our motor home. When I parked it, I opened the living room slide, tried to open the kitchen slide and it went out about one inch. The bedroom slide did not move. I have it hooked up to power and they won't move. It sounded like low battery when the first one slid out. I looked in the manual and see nothing about what to do in this situation. I sure appreciate any help.

I would check battery voltage first in case the charger isn't working. If the voltage is OK then I would start looking for the solenoids that operate the slides to see if they are getting 12V also. After that I would be lost if all indications were good. My guess is that a fuse or breaker may have blown on the second slide. But that is a WAG.

You may need the motor running to give full voltage to slides. Check owners manual for how to open slides. All are differant.

Thanks, can't find much of anything in the owners manual. I will continue searching, though. They worked fine before. I have it plugged in overnight and hopefully it will have "healed itself" and will work fine. I will locate the power/breaker panel and see if all are working. Thanks again

HI, Thanks. I will be checking all your suggestions today. I am hoping it is something simple. I have had it plugged in overnight, maybe just needs a great charge. I do know that I will be needing to replace house and solar batteries (ouch!$). I will post again when I get it figured out. Thanks to you again

As the slides are powered from the coach batteries (which are likely weak), give them some time to fully charge. If you can get the generator to run, that will charge to batteries faster than using the converter-park power. Best method is to disconnect the batteries and charge them with a quality 15 amp (or more) charger. It takes a minimum of 12 volts to enable the slides to function.

I had a similar problem. I found the awning cover which rolls out of my intruder had gotten "tripped" by a low hanging tree branch and was in the lock position. I would suggest checking the locked and unlocked position of the awning cover which rolls out to cover the top of the slide. Sounds simple. But just easily enough to get over looked. Good luck.

On our 2003 Intruder, the slides will NOT operate if the engine is running! I suspect all Damon MH are configured this way for safety reasons.
