2006 Daybreak to pull 20' trailer question

Looking to pull a 20' enclosed trailer with my Daybreak F-53. The trailer will have a 7way plug in. Anyone set up this type of system? I hope Damon has prewired the M/H to do this. Because the M/H has a factory hitch installed. I may have located a plugin under the dash for the controller. Going to call Ford with the vin to see if they have a controller for the under dash hook up. I posted this type of request a few months back and was told because I didn't know much about the system to take it to etc etc. I always felt that this forum was to pass on tricks and things that we had learned, on to our fellow RV's. A couple of sentences here could save one hours of work, especially when Murphy is your helper. Sometimes wish that guy would get a job.

my Daybreak is a bit newer, however it did come with the wire to connect a controller to the plug that you found. if you don't have this wire, most stores that sell controllers will have it (it is the same for most late Ford trucks). The controller can be bought at CW and other RV parts houses or auto parts stores. Again, it also isn't anything specific for your Daybreak. has to work with an electrical feed (not like the older ones that had a hydraulic line attached to the brake system).

overall, it is pretty easy. Go to a RV or even a U-Haul store that sells hitches and they ought to be able to fix you right up.

I put a prodigy P3 controller in my Intruder. Order it on ebay. Its top notch and very popular. You will have to run a wire from the front all the way to the back, so get some help doing it.

More importantly, my intruder had a factory hitch that was bolted on. If I looked closely, I could see how it had been stressed a bit. I had a welding shop remove that bolt on hitch and fabricate a weld on hitch that actually connects to the main chassis rails and not just to the extensions. It is SIGNIFICANTLY stronger. You may need that for the weight of that trailer and the things you will carry.

btw... I tow a 14 foot double axle enclosed

I stopped by U-Haul just before Thanksgiving and they were no help at all. This summer I wired in two camera's & an over head spot lite for late evening BBQ's & to monitor pulling the jeep at night.. All in convoluted tubing. Almost run two extra wires then but couldn't see any reason for them. Of course that was before the 1930 hot rod came along looking for a new home. I'll drop by eBay a see about the prodigy 3. Thanks for the info.
