We were gone a few weeks and left the coach to attended to itself.
Soooooo
yesterday the granddaughter wanted to watch a dvd
off goes papa and puts in a dvd and nothing is getting to the front Tv, the rear Tv or the kitchen.
satellite works perfect, no issues
i went to work on the winegaurd switching unit, and i had no 12 volt feed to the unit.
I checked all the 12volt fuses in the rear of the coach and none were blown.
i thought maybe the feed came from the 12volt accessory plug near the passenger seat....it didn't work either.....but i found later not related.
so off comes the access panels and out comes the multimeter
it turns out the 12volt feed for the accessory plug was a broken terminal end inside the protective cover.
so i still couldn't find the source of 12volts for the wineguard
soooo i called Damon....
it is fed from the DRIVER map light circuit....which is powered at the chassis to body interface located under the drivers window outside
yep found a 10 amp fuse burnt
so i swap out a new one and bam it goes smokie.
so i go back and look at the driver map-light, it is not right....
the head must have been turned one to many times and had shorted out, and could not be repaired, cheap china crap.
so i isolated the map light wires and put in a new 10 amp fuse....WOW
we got power back to the wineguard and dvd movie resumed, for fun family watching of RV
i could not for the life of me, figure out why the wineguard was receiving power from a map light circuit???
but then it hit me, i could watch dvds while driving
