Have any of you who have 40 ft.M/H stayed in Palo Duro Canyon State Park and how is the grade going down?

You will be just fine going in and coming out of the park. It is a five mile loop with lo water crossings and deer so tame they don't even run from you. Your problem is you are a little large for most of the camp sites, but I have seen some 32 foot 5er's in there, so you should be able to find something. Did you ask the ranger station if they had parking that would accommodate a 40' DP? If you can't camp inside the park there is a really nice park on the North East corner of I27 and Highway 217 (217 dead ends into park entrance 5 miles east of I27). Be sure and take some raisins, grapes , or rice chex cereal to feed the wild turkeys - they will stampede your car for food!! Be sure to see the Texas A&M Oil Well museum in Downtown Canyon when you go the Braums for Ice Cream and Burgers.

You will have a BALL at Palo Duro! Good Luck - Mutha

That's a serious hill. Make sure your brakes are in great shape and don't be in a rush.

Been there in our 36' Bounder with a toad and while steep, the hill is not that long and its slow. You will have no trouble. There were plenty of sites for our rig with room to spare to park the toad in front of the coach.

Its a nice park, see the show and the cookout.
