'96 Damon Challenger Steering column moves

Hi all, I just joined, and am looking at buying a 1996 Damon Challenger. The odd thing is that when I road test it, the steering column moves a bit, especially when I hit the brakes. It happens in either forward or reverse. Is this normal? Thanks!

Are you saying that the wheel pulls to the right or left?? Or that the column moves?

I'm sorry for the delay. I forgot my login. Anyway, what was happening was that the entire steeing column would move forward or backward, up to 2 to 3 inches. It was also very "shaky" when driving over any kind of rough roads. You could feel every little pebble in the road. I even called Thor tech support, and they said that they had heard of this problem, and that there was a fix for it, which was to drill some holes through the front firewall and through the steering column support bracket, and then install some bolts to secure the two panels together. I wasn't real thrilled with this, so I did not buy the coach, but the Tech Support folks were really great. I'm still looking. Thanks for trying to help.

I own a 1995 Damon Class A UltraSport, and the steering column is not steady, like a bus or semi, well, or even a truck. It is an unsettling experience, to be sure.
It moves like your description, but it does not affect the "drive-ability".

Thank you for the Thor reply and fix, I will look at that.

Sam
