Greetings,
We are new owners of a classic 1997 Damon Intruder DP.
I have the owners manual (such as it is) but it does not tell me the capacity of the fuel tank.

When I have filled it up the auto shut off clicks off and I can see the fuel level and bubbles in the filler neck. I am thinking that I must be full but the gage does not go to F. only to the last index mark before the F.

Well, later I went to top off the tank thinking it would take only about 5-6 gals so I could start home with a full tank and try to get a sense for the MPG's. I heard it click off and I had only pot in about two gallons. I decided to try to squeeze in some more and guess what? I managed to put in another 32 gallons! I was looking under the coach thinking I was pouring diesel on the ground.

I went inside and NOW the gauge goes to F.

Anyone know what the capacity of the diesel tank is on an old '97 Damon Freightliner chassis?

Thanks.

You can find a brochure on it here - but I don't think I saw fuel capacity listed...You may also contact Damon here. They should be able to help you too.

Thanks Mama, I have the brochure and there is no mention of the fuel tank size. I registered on the Damon website and asked them the same question and now after two weeks of no response I do not think they are going to respond.

I also do not know how big the LP tank is either.

Don't look for a response from Damon. They just don't. Call them and you may get someone to answer. Not the most responsive customer service site I have ever tried to use.

I just crawled under the coach yesterday and there was a tag still on the fuel tank. It said 97 gal. Oh and it also said not to fill the tank more than 95%. Seems that is not a problem as I can't get it to take more than 60 gallons without the fill tube backing up.
