The radio is a part of your "Home Entertainment System"

. It's on until you either turn off the battery disconnect switch by the entrance door or hold the right button in for about 3 seconds.
On my Damon it hooks up in the same bay the shore power is located. I carry a 50' length of cable and that's been enough no matter where we've camped.
