Maybe it has always been so, but I just notice that when I turn off the engine the #2 airtank loses air pressure. I think I even hear it but I have not found a leak. When the engine is on the system charges quickly and the pressure hits the normal range quickly.

Is this normal or an issue?

This is definately an issue. Get it into the chassis (Freightliner I believe) shop and let them find it and repair it immediately. The last thing you want is to have a small leak turn into a major leak while on the road. And this is covered under the chassis warranty.

We had a small leak that turned out to be a crack in the guages. The tech used soap and water on every part of the system lookoing for air bubble to find it. Took about 6 hours to find the lean and 10 minutes to change out the parts. Freightliner covered it all under warranty.

Let me know what they find. And develope a good relationship with the chassis service center if you find they did a good job. They will help you in the future if you do.

It should not go down. It is a closed system and if there are no leaks it should theoretically never go down. I expect it is kind of like tires though maybe a pound a month or so?

I know that our 4055 has set for 45 days (hate when works gets in the way ) and the tanks were still full when I got her out of the storage lot.

You can dump all the air out of the tanks if you chose. There are three lanyards behind the front wheels (one on the drivers and two on the ‘I’ll tell you how you are driving wrong ’ side) that you can pull which will dump air out of the tanks directly. They are there for you to pull and make sure there is no water in them (I pull them every time I get it out of storage – no water yet – the air dryer works) but you can use it to drain the air out if you needed to. They did this when we put the Super Steer Motion Control Units.

Me to
mine hold air for long periods, even if i dump the bags, the residual stays right at 40 lbs, takes about 2 minutes to come up full and start cycling the purge valves, then settles down.
need to fire her up today, been sitting to long this time.

So what Woodieboys and Powerboatr are telling me is when I park on my drive way and dont level the air bags will keep the coach the same level as when i parked her?

If that is the case then I must have a leak because the rear end comes down serveral inches over a period of time and will come up when started. The rock guard shows me that with out measuring?

Thanks all. I did have Freightliner find and fix it. It was a crack in the airpressure gauge. The repair personnel said that it is not a common problem but they do see if once in a while.

Service and treatment at the French Camp CA Freightliner was good.

Now on to an alignment question in a new thread.

We had the exact same issue with our guage as well. Glad they found it and fixed it...

We too had a cracked rear fitting on the dash airgauge. Ours was easy to find, I could hear it, swapped the gauge for new and no issues since.

We had the same thing happen
we had the coach serviced at Gaffney in November the service tech found the cracked fitting and replaced the gauge cluster under warranty
We put 3000plus miles on the Tuscany on that trip as new owners this spring we are impressed with performance and ride.
Our previous coach was a Tradition on Spartan chassis
thanks
