Could I make a 10 gal. water heater fit in place of a 6 gal. Or would it be too much of a modification and not worth the effort.( Propane only)

Have you tried going on the water heater manufacturer's website and getting the dimensions of the heater?

I have the dimensions they are close the only one Iam concerned with is the "depth" measurement. The 10 gal. is deeper. I think I will just forget this and go on with the 6 gal. It could cost me a bunch of work and money to find out. I just thought someone has tried this and it worked ,, Thanks for your response.

gonna be some effort. Is an extra 4 gallons worth the cost of another heater and all the effort and trouble to switch over? Not to me, but then I'm pretty lazy and getting too old to be lying on my belly with arms stretched into some compartment I can hardly see into.

Have you considered a tankless water heater? I have fought about it but mine is sufficient and if it breaks I will probably go tankless.
