Hello very happy to be part of irv2, i got a real bad rusting on the rail(look like a inch tubing) to all the compatiments of the rv, the frame latch almost tear apart in the rust, please help.

Hello - I can't help much if your rust is so bad the latches are falling off. However, my Intruder was apparently built with un-coated rail pieces, and I had terrible surface rust all over the compartment frames.

In my case, I just did what I could: remove the latches, wire brush everything, primer with hardware store rust-stop, and finish with Rustoleum flat black.

I got it all two years ago, still looks great, no recurrence of rusting. I hope you can catch it at this stage, and good luck.

Thank you for the advice but the rust went to far, so i have to change the complete botton rail i guest.

How did you make out with this repair? I believe I have the same issue as you and I see no alternative to removng compartment doors and replacing the tubing.
