Sounds like dead batteries to me.. However there is a procedure
1: Digital volt meter across the batteries themselves.. IS there 12, 13, more, less? If less you got dead batteries for sure 10 minutes of engine running won't even begin to charge 'em.. I plugged in to shore power Wed noon, and Thursday morning the Xantrex was still not satisfied as to the charge.. (Of course I do have over 400 amp hours of battery plugged in) Long about midnight Thursday I got it to go into Equalization mode (Which it won't do less it's full up)
Now, if you do have full voltage at the batteries.. Follow the leads.. First move the negative lead to the chassis, (please turn on a light when you do this) then move the positive lead to the breaker (if any) switch) if any) fuse block, and so on.
I'm guessing you have one of two conditions
1: Dead batteries.. As explained above
2: Bad connection... Oh yes. I got that problem too.. IN my case it's the positive chassis battery terminal I have to clean and clean,, I'll do it right likly tomorrow or Monday. (At least I narrowed it down)
