Hi all,
I've got an 08 Tuscany 4076 that I bought new in Sept. We are now on our first long extended trip. From Austin, Tx to Key West, Fl. and having a great time. I was reading in another thread by UCF Knight about the block heater. I was wondering what that switch on the rear wall/closet was. NowI know. Thanks. Now my question about it is,, when in the on position should the red light come on instantly? or does it take a while? OR does it have to be cold outside for it to illuminate?

I've been a lurker here for a couple months. So please be kind to me.

Thanks a bunch,
Ron

Danorske-

I'm going to get a chance to try mine out this weekend. I'll let you know what I notice.

On a side note. Are you a Longhorn fan? We (UCF) are playing the Longhorns in September this year. I am thinking about making a road trip with the Astoria. They play in Austin, correct?

As far as a fan...yes but only because they are the home team. I'm really not into sports. Yes the longhorns play in Austin.
Will,be waiting for your test of the block heater.

I have not used mine in awhile, but if memory serves, the light will be on when the switch is on. The only caveat being that you must be hooked up to electrical power.

The b/h switch light should come on with the switch as long as you have a/c. My wife and I are headed to Key West from Va the first of March. Any words of wisdom or helpful pointers would be greatly appreciated.

ub40,
I guess something is wrong cause the light doesn't come on. darn.
Key West is a neat place. If you like real nice I recommend Bluewater RV resort. kinda pricey but clean, with plenty of shade. And don't forget the sunscreen.
Ron

PS While I was typing this messaage I left the BH switch on and now the light is on. Just goes to show.

We live in New York and just came back from a trip to Myrtle Beach.
The night before we left, we put on the block heater switch, and it takes about 10 seconds for it illuminate. The next morning after starting the engine we turn it off.
The engine starts up right away without any problems or hesitation. Good feature in freezing weather!

Danorski-

Spent the weekend in White Springs, FL.
Froze both nights. Turned on the BH before I went to sleep Sat night. Light immediately came on. Engine started right up Sunday morning.
