Brag about my Tuscany again

We just returned to home base after a trip to south Texas to see some winter spots and say hey to a sibling. Yes it still hot down there 99 all three days
total miles driven 1273.2, total fuel burned.....166.0 gallons. MPG 7.7 at 63-64 mph

today on a short leg of 219 miles she jumped up to 8.1 with a tail wind
this was with the hauler and it carrying the F150, only mishap was about 40 miles from home we blew a tire on the trailer and ruined a rim. and smoked for skeeters till i could safely stop, which happened to be a LONGER than expected time.

Was thinking about your gps question....have you though about getting a ipod or Android tablet you can use for more than just a gps? I have an adroid type phone and use the gps on it...screen is only 4" on the phone but the pads are much bigger and allow you do research on a location and then gives you gps guided directions for about the same cost of a good gps. Just a thought.

Not sure how BIG of a screen you want, but we use a Garmin 1450LMT with a 5" screen. It has voice directions, lane assist, lifetime maps and lifetime traffic. I also loaded it with Low Clearances. The voice volume is very good and the screen color is great in light and dark situations.

really digging in to see if i can find one with a 6 or 7 "" screen
that i can stick/mount on the dash so i can interact with it like the nav in my truck.

scroll up to the next turn or see a map at a lower scale or zoom out in a quick manner
have time.....next trip isnt going to be till after Christmas
did get four new trailer tires today though
have a weeks worth of washing and polishing to do to get her turned around and in the "ready bird spot"

I have a Rand McNally TripMaker RVND7710 7-Inch GPS device on order. Amazon seems to have the lowest price.
It's made for RV's

i was looking at it, a big screen and lots of features i think would be useful
still have to see if it accept an external antennae. my dash is a good distance from the big front window and i know i would loose gps signal

plus i would like to have it easy for the navigator to reach .

thks

The really big screen GPS is Delorme Street Atlas. It is a program that goes on a laptop and you plug a GPS receiver into the laptop. I find it to be perfect for my MH.

I have the Rand McNally with the five inch screen. I'm sure the only difference is the size of the screen. I have never lost the gps signal and have no external antenna. It is stuck on the plastic portion of the M/H (2010 Tuscany 4072) dash. I have been completely satisfied with its performance so far which has been across the nation and far up into British Columbia.
