How do you get to the air filter on a 97 Damon F53 ford chassis with a 460. I can see the front bolts through the front engine compartment but what about all the other ones on the sides and back ??? Can't get to them even with the dog house cover removed??

Any one done this their self or just sent to a dealer, don't want to pay a dealer to change a air filter.

Got no manuals with this Class A so I am running blind.

Thanks

I have the same chassis on my Gulfstream, the air filter is not much fun to replace. I had to remove the air box assembly to install my Banks air box lid and air filter. Most of it was done laying on top of the engine from inside the MH. That's the only way to reach the air box hoses and loosen the air intake tube clamps. You might be able to reach the two air box mounting screws that are attached to the high point of the air box platform from the front. (See photo)

Once everything was loose the air box pulled out from the front of the coach.
You can do it, just think "climb in" after you take the dog house off.

Thanks again for the info - I finally got to all the bolts and man did it need a new filter - runs much better now. Not easy but can be done once you remove intake hoses like you suggested.
