Have 2008 Damon 378 with Sansui 27" conventional (heavy) cockpit tv. On a recent trip, the tv broke loose on passenger side and almost totally fell out of the cabinet. In looking at the way the tv was attached, there were four screws screwed into each side of the tv (plastic cabinet) with metal plates attached to the cockpit cabinet surround. The screws were stripped in the plastic. Contacted Damon customer service, they indicated that is the normal way the tv's are installed. They offerred more "bracketry", but I'm concerned about continued safety issues.

I'm not very happy with this response and am considering contacting NHTSA. Anyone else had the same issue? What was the outcome?

Chuck, Didn't have it fall out, but was installed in a similar manner. I changed mine to an LCD. I had it posted on here showing the install. John H...

WOW
good to hear you werent hurt

i learned long ago that heavy stuff tends to be marginally attached at best.
can you get to the major supports in the roof or front area to re-enforce the mounting
