We are considering trading up to a new 2008 Tuscany or Essence. Do any owners have any advice or recommendations regarding either of these two motorhomes?

Thanks.

check all the water lines under the kitchen sink for tightness

slide seals seem to tear easier than they did on my fiver

if they updated the in dash dvd unit to a jensen vice the generic unit

other than that it drives reaaaaalllllly nice
managed 8.09 last 1800 ish mile trip at 65 mph, lots of mountain climbs in northern new mexico and south colorado

We have put almost 20K on our 2007 Tuscany and absolutely love ours. We've had almost no issues with it (one exception - doors were not sanded before finishing - Damon replaced them all with no issues). We'd recommed it (and do every day ) over and over again.

Thanks. We ended up buying a new 2008 Essence 40B. It was the Essence or a Newmar Ventana and the Essence won out. We like the big ISL 425 hp engine and beefy tires, as well as the floorplan.

OOps! After delaying our PDI 3 times due to quality control issues -- jacks broke, air leak, & wheel alignment, etc., we went back to the 2009 Newmar Ventana and bought it today. Loved the ride and power of the Essence, but we were very concerned about quality issues, so Newmar won out in the end.

We have a new 2008 Tuscany, bought it in August 2009.....and I wouldn't buy another one. It has been at the repair shop almost the entire time since we have owned it. Automatic levelers wouldn't deploy, water leaks under the sink and in the cargo area, batteries died, charging system had to be replaced, the entertainment system (surround sound) was replaced, the outside cameras (backup and side) replaced, air mattress on fold out bed had to be replaced, windshield wiper switch was bad........every time we have taken it out, something has happened. Nothing but problems.

We too are experiencing losts of nagging little things but so far enjoying the unit. We are in the midst of our first long trip and the equipment seems to be holding up well. We too think that Damon needs to take a real serious look at thier quality program. More to follow as we head back to the west coast.

All rv's have some quality issues. Maybe some more than others but take a look at the threads under Country Coach...and I payed nothing close to what one of those used babies cost.

I've learned a very important thing, how well does the manufacturer stand behind its product?

We're in as well!! Where? Sorta cold up towards Elkhart this time of year. Now about someplace like Florida or on the Gulf where it is warmer?
I'll bring the E-bond and caulkng gun along with the tool box.
