Ok I'm freaking out now. When washing our 2007 Astoria the other day saw an area between the door and LR window, half way up the window about 12" round that the paint appears to have a different texture than the other areas of the MH. In further inspection, I discovered an area below it, not quite as big, but where the awning arm is attached to the MH at the bottom with the same appearance.

The paint is not chipped or crackled, but looks like there is a problem under it.
I have never noticed this before.

Could it be possible that there is an area of rust under the paint??

Of course our warranty was up in July.
If I knew how to send a picture on this site I would send one.

Any ideas?
Thanks, Sue

It wont be rust, it could be fiberglass delamination. Best to show a pic here or go to a rv service shop.

Thanks Frankie...I was just looking up on line about delamination. Now I'm really upset.
If its that I guess there must be a leak somewhere?
Guess we will be taking it up to an RV repair shop.
I will try to show pic.
Thanks, Sue

Hi Sue! I'm so sorry to hear about this but maybe it's not what you think. Usually, delam is a bubble. You said the surface doesn't look right. Is it rough? It could still be a form of delamination but maybe it's under the first layer of 'glass and can be repaired. Maybe it's under the gel coat. (The smooth shiny surface)

I agree that you need to have a professional look at it.

I would love to see some pictures if you can.

Chandler

Thanks for the encouragement Chandler.
It does look rough.
I tried yesterday to send a picture but cannot figure out how to do it.
I'll keep trying. And I guess its off to the repair place tues to see if they can look at it and tell us.
I'll keep you posted.
Sue
