I removed the decorative button snaps on the sides of the front curtain and replaced them with regular snaps. I got a kit at Ace hardware for the snaps which included the tool and the snaps for under 10 bucks. As you can see by the second pic(sorry about the quality) the curtains will now open from the side so you can open the windows for ventilation, without opening the front.

Sam, thanks:
Another two items to check out on my personal honey do list. I would like to open the curtains they way you modified for our Shih Tzu to play watch dog.
The second one is the two sun screens I saw in your picture. Great idea there also! I plan on having the top half of my side windows tinted also.

I am also considering tinting my side windows as well as the top 1/3 of the windshield. Sun is dazzling in the early morning and late afternoon.

Matt B... Before you install that tint on your side windows, tape some on the co-pilots side and try looking thru at night time. Some of the tints reflex alot and will be hard to see out side, for cross-streets and seeing objects in the mirrors at night. I installed some and had to remove the dark stuff to see.

Be careful. I tinted my side windows and very shortly after I did it, I took a razor blade and cut and removed the bottom part so I could see the mirror. It was just too dark at nite to see backing up. On mine, opening the window made it twice as bad as I then had to look thru 2 tinted windows.
