looking at 2003 Damon Challenger, low miles on v-10 engine, low hours on gen.
Any words of wisdom, read about one person having problems when it rains soaking air filter, has anyone experinced this issue or others with Damon challenger

That's a minor problem in the relative scheme of things. I expect that there are more significant things to be aware of other than the air filter.

Good news is that once wet, open the filter box and remove the filter. Allow it to dry over night and you'll be fine in the morning. I cheat, I use a fan. A wet filter will only show up as a SES lamp on your IP. Typically, not a biggie.

Generator needs to have been run 1 hr a month under ½ load, if less expect troubles. In fact I'd rather see 10,000 miles a year than low miles.

Have an expert go over it... Many times someone has seen the "Motor home of their dreams" (NOTE: This statement is manufacturer independent) and then found, after accepting delivery "As Is, Where Is" that there were SERIOUS issues where water had leaked in and been allowed to rot the wood or some such.

And I can think of several dozen OTHER things you might not catch in your per-delivery.
