OK...final question for now. As the new owner of a Damon Outlaw 3611, I'm trying to catch up on all the maintenance actions. It's a 2007 coach with a 2006 Ford F-53 MH chassis. The coach has 58,750 miles, so it's coming due for another transmission fluid change. The 2006 Ford MH owner's manual says there's an FT-145 remote transmission filter which should be changed (something of which the local Ford parts dept guy was unaware). After spending half of yesterday inspecting the underside of the coach, I'm yet to find this remote filter. MX records from the previous owner show the transmission fluid and filter were changed at 32K miles, but an incomplete receipt with no parts--don't know if that was the internal filter (i.e., the screen) or the external or both. SO...does anyone know if a 2007 Outlaw on a 2006 Ford F-53 chassis has a remote transmission filter, and if so, where it's located?

Got just about all the other parts/supplies for the 60K service in hand...this is the last piece.

Thanks for the help!

"Thank you for your service Eagle pilot!"

In the many times that I have visited the Ford chassis displays at RV Industry shows, I have not observed that there was a remote transmission filter. I expect that the reason as to why you did not find one on your rig is because your vehicle does not have one.

What the manual should have said is that if your vehilce is equipped with an FT-145 ... I would trust the parts guy at the Ford dealer to provide you with the best information.

If you have the same chassis as I do in my 06, it is located in the front (passenger) area. It is a spin off can that contains a filter.

If you have the filter, its on the passenger side near the bottom of the radiator. Most F-53 chassis do not have it as it is an extra cost option that is usually not specified. My 2007 22k chassis does not have it.

The filter is located where they said on the passanger side and the filter number is Wix 57702 or Nappa 7702. My 2006 F53 has it but they did away with in in 2007. Would guess to save cost. The aluminum filter housing is about 2 in dia and around 3" tall. There is a hex nut cast on the bottom to unscrew it. You can't miss it just follow the lines from the transmisson to the cooler in front of the radiator. Hope this helps.

Yep...thanks to the pointers from you guys, it was a snap to find. Chock one up for the forum and minus one for the local Ford parts guy (actually, minus two since he also claimed Ford was "not on the internet at all"). After the ABS issue is sorted, I'll drop the transmission fluid and change the filters (internal screen and external).

Thanks to the tips.
