I towed a 2000 explorer last 5 years. Ford put a kit in to tow 4 down. It only cost 70.00. This year we bought a 2008 HHR Chevy easy to tow great on gas 28 mpg we love it just put in n and pull a fuse which I retrofited with a small rocker switch and roll on down the road.

We currently tow a 2007 Chevy HHR. Blu Ox Tow Bar and Brake Buddy. Set up works great for us. Like being able to tow automatic 4 down without any mods. Have added by pass switch on accs fuse so I don't have to pull it when towing.

Hello, we tow a 2000 Chevy blazer at present behind ours. Simply put the transfer case into netural and disconnect the battery with a quick disconnect. We also attend some car shows and then I pull a 20 ft. car trailer with one of our corvettes on it. I have been downtown Chicago to the McCormick Place Convention Complex pulling a trailer without any problems.

Dakotarider,
Do you have to by any after-market items, or have auto/manual transmission to tow this vehicle? Also, are they big enough to carry a large black lab with you?

Automatic trans........I would suggest you test drive a HHR and place the dog in the back seat. I really don't think it would give the dog enough room....

We've towed an 05 Honda Element automatic for 2 years and 8,000 miles now. I bought the tow bracket and installed it, and the light circuit, myself in about 6 hours. I use a Brake Buddy stopper. It's been a great toad and when it's not following the MH I fold up the rear seats and haul my radio control airplanes to the club field.

Our last toad was a GEO Tracker convertible. That was a nice light toad but uncomfortable to ride in. The repair parts were costing me an arm and a leg so away it went.

Well, I tow 4,000 pounds of 1992 chevy Lumina APV with my 2005 Intruder

Tows real nice and the US-Gear braking system I put on the thing is lovely. Unlike those stupid boxes folks like to wrestle in and out of the driver's seat.. This one keeps the battery CHARGED on the towed

OH, and somewhere I have a neat photo of the Damon "towing" a DTP Wholesale "Crusior" electric scooter... The photo is SPFX, they are not really hooked together, but it looks nice.

We have a 2000 Toyota Tacoma TRD that pushes our 05 Challenger down the road. Does a real good job to. I also have one of those Boxes that takes about 30 seconds to hookup and test. The driveshaft disconnect has been perfect for about 14000 miles towing.Take care and travel safe...................Jim
