Looking to add a "scan gauge II" but, having crawled around under the dash, I can't find the OBD connector.

Any know where I can find it? And anyone with any experience with Liner Logic's "scan gauge"? Or am I asking all this in the wrong forum?

Paul

I have an 05 Ford and it's located just to the right of the steering column at the bottom of the dash. Hard to find till you spot it and then you will wonder how you missed it.

i have the scan gauge and it is very useful,

Look under the dash on the passenger side of steering column. It may even be attached to the steering column, and it may have a rubber or plastic cover over it that says "data link connector".

Just a minor update.
I did find the OBD connection just where y'all said it would be. Knowing where to look, it was hard to miss.

ScanGauge worked right out of the box and appears to do all that it is supposed to do. Given the weather here in Chicagoland, I've not had much of a chance to test it on the road. But it is nice to know things like "gallons per hour" when I've got it idling. Now, if it would only tell me how much the generator is using!

Frankie:

I bought the ScanGuage with the update. I haven't tried all the gauges. Thanks for noting that there is now a forum; I'll go there and check it out.

I haven't figured out the "karma" thing yet. I'm still hunting out all the info these forums make available.

Ever Since I read this thread I was excited about adding a scan gauge to my 1996 Intruder. Disappointment set in when I figured out it was built on a 1995 F53 chassis. No OBD II.

KC1BUD:

Chicken Legs is right on. Get it direct from ScanGuage.

I'm not sure but it may be a parasitic draw on the chassis battery if the cable from the OBD is left plugged in to the unit. At least, I had a low battery the one time I did so. As a precuation I now pull the connector from the unit.

I'm a newbie to truck engines and this device gives me options to display a whole lot of information that is still Greek to me - but I like it for the data I do understand.

I haven't experenced a draw problem leaving it plugged in. The main office for the company is in Tempe Az and I actually picked mine up at the office site. Great people to work with when I got mine home it didn't work I was leaving the next day for Daytona and I stopped at the office with my MH on the way out of town and they helped install a different one that worked. Guess they had a software problem on a few when they did the latest rev.

Thanks for the power draw info. I was not sure the ScanGuage drew the battery down. I'm new and may have something entirely different involved.
